The HP EliteBook series doesn't have official Linux support. Sometimes it is a headache when you try to update the EFI. Please follow the next few steps to update your system securely under Linux too. Go to the Official HP site, and find your model, than chose Windows as operating system Download the newest BIOS update .exe and extract it Read the "Bios Flash.htm" and "History.txt" Format an USB drive to FAT32 system Create new directories on the fresh formatted drive: "HP/DEVFW" Copy the EFI file to the DEVFW directory and rename to "firmware.bin" Reboot and press F10 to open EFI Choose from the menu update bios from local media option and hit ENTER Wait.., after couple reboot it will be done
